Why the title « Room 101 » ?

I've always been fascinated by George Orwell's 1984. The world he describes is really frightening and takes its source in reality and in something that still exists nowadays: dictatorship.

This story is meant as a tribute to Orwell and is based on the terrifying Room 101 that appears in his book. It sprang from this sentence:

"You asked me once, said O'Brien, what was in Room 101. I told you that you knew the answer already. Everyone knows it. The thing that is in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world." 1984.



Here is the story of Lea, a distant worthy ancestor of the hero Winston, who also finds herself locked up in a room.

Pourquoi ce titre « The  room 101 » ?


J'ai toujours été fascinée par le livre de George Orwell : 1984.  
Le monde qu'il y décrit est tout à fait effrayant et est basé sur des faits réels qui perdurent de nos jours : les dictatures.

J'ai voulu, ici,  rendre un petit hommage à l'auteur,  en créant une histoire parallèle  basé sur une salle qui figure dans son livre et qui fait froid dans le dos : la Salle 101.

Voici une phrase tirée du livre résumant assez bien ce qu'elle est :

« _Vous m'avez une fois demandé, dit O'Brien, ce qui se trouvait dans la salle 101. Je vous ai répondu que vous le saviez déjà. Tout le monde sait ce qui se trouve dans la salle 101, c'est la pire chose qui soit au monde… »

Voici donc l'histoire de Léa, probable descendante lointaine du héros Winston, qui se retrouve enfermée à son tour dans la Salle mythique...
